USP is investing in installing a solar PV array at its site on Pedmore Road, Dudley, to reduce its reliance on grid electricity and its carbon emissions. This includes overcladding the existing roof and installing roof-mounted solar PV modules and inverters.

An initial review of available solutions has identified the following equipment types as suitable benchmarks; however, alternative equipment will be considered where it can demonstrate performance equivalent to or exceeding the capability of the referenced items.

The proposed scope currently comprises:

• Installation of a circa 250 kWp roof-mounted solar PV array with inverters, across two roofs.

• Overcladding of circa 1,800 m² of existing roofing, to aid the installation of the solar PV array and reduce heat loss through the roof.
